Our precious Kate got the flu this week. Her temperature reached 104.5 on Saturday and Kameron took her to the closest clinic in Oklahoma. ( Kate and Kameron went to OK for the weekend) I felt so helpless being in Texas and that I could not do anything to help. I just wanted to hold her. Poor baby was so tired and drugged up - she was taking tamiflu, amoxicillan(sp?) and tylenol/motrin every 4 hours. She did not want to eat anything. It was so sad to see her hurting and sick. She would get little bursts of energy and then would crash. We went to the park Thursday morning to get some fresh air. She loved being outside. We returned home and took baths. I set her on our bed with Kara while I dried my hair and 10 minutes later I found her
passed out on our bed at 11am
The whole week Kate I found with her blankie just laying on the ground. It was so sad to see. I am sure she was so coinfused as to why she felt so bad. As the week went on, her temperature broke and she began to eat little by little. Thank goodness. It has been a hard, long week for all of us. Frustrating at times - especially those times when Kate would try and tell me someting she needed but I just could not understand what she was telling me - which would lead to major tantrums and a tired, cranky mommy. Poor Kameron - I think almost every night this week I was asleep by 8:45pm. Luckily today we were able to go to the zoo with our friends and enjoy the weather and animals. We had not even left the parking lot of the zoo and Kate was fast asleep in the car. Hopefully we are on the upside of the flu now and hopefully it will not come to us again!
