So Goodnight Moon is most likely on everyone's bookshelf. It is a classic. So simple yet so loved...at least by my kiddos. It was a MUST every night with Kate up until the age of 18 months! We found new ways of reading it "Can you find the mouse on every page?" "What do you see?" We sang it, used silly voices, really anything because even though a classic - it can get kind of old (at least to a tired mommy and daddy) I believe Kameron and I know it by heart. SO......out it has come again for Kara. She loves it as well. She calls it the moon book and likes to look for the kitty cats instead of the mouse.
Well, one night when Kameron was gone Kate wanted to sit with Kara and I and read. Kara wanted the Moon book so we began our nightly reading. About half way through,at the sentence "Goodnight light and the red balloon" Kate stopped me. Out of her sweet mouth came " Mommy, lights and balloons do NOT sleep!" Hmmm...yes, she IS right but I read on. But again was stopped "moooooommy, (sigh) chairs do not sleep either" This continued on until the very end. "Stars and air DO NOT sleep" This time a bit more annoyed at the book.. With that she left the room as if saying " I am done with that....mommy does not get it" haha.....She does hae a point
