Dance Recital!!!! ( and yes,I am actually posting! ha!)

The girls last week of ballet was this past week. They have been working so hard on their recital dance over the past few months. It has been so fun to hear them talking about jetes, pirouettes, plies, and releves...and actually knowing what they are talking about and can actually do them! We have enjoyed our time at a sweet little christian dance company, Devotion in Motion. What a blessing it has been for the girls. They are beginning to grow to LOVE dance. Selfishly, I am overjoyed at that. I would LOVE for one of them to want to pursue it. Right now, kameron and I both see Kara going in that direction but we have some time! haha.... Kate is on the left and Kara is to the right of her in a nice 1st position :)

Anyway, we had our last dance class Monday. The class rehearsed on the big stage. They all did so well up there! I was not sure what to expect. Actually, I expected them to stand there or act silly during rehearsal but they really took it quite seriously.

Below is a video of the girls rehearsing. Check out Kate at the end. priceless big sister.....

The recital was Saturday. boy, what a day! The recital was at 10 am so we had to move fast. I am so thankful Nonnie was here to help with hair! We had to curl and hairspray....not easy with a curly head and a head of fine, straight hair but we managed to get it up.

Here they are on the way to the recital...very excited!

The girls all dolled up and daddy :)

Daddy and bear on her toes, of course!

Me and the girls :)

During the recital, the girls sat with their class backstage and watched the entire recital...the entire 2 1/2 hours! Yikes! Colin did really well. he slept through the first half and then hung out with us for a while. Kameron took him to the back for the last 20 minutes or so.

We were so proud of the girls. What a crazy, wonderful experience for them The lights were soooo bright and the place was packed. I fully expected them to just stand there. I mean, heck, that is what I did in my first dance recital! BUT, oh yes, they danced! It was so exciting that I had butterflies in my stomach the entire dance! i can only imagine how they felt. The video is pretty awful because the lighting was bad and I was holding Colin so kameron could use the video camera but you get the idea...

( video coming....blogger is being stinky today)

It was quite a day. The girls had a great time but were exhausted at the same time. When I asked them if they enjoyed dancing this year, Kate's reply was "oh yes yes yes.....and can we do tap next year?" we will see.....
