Yes, we have a 5 year old!!! Craaaaazy! Girlfriend has been ready for 5 since the day she turned 4...seriously. Five years old is a pretty big deal...a whole hand! I am still a bit in shock that we are about to have a kindergartener. We won't go there now though :)
We started off the birthday week with a celebration at school. I brought cupcakes for the class to enjoy.
For the big 5 year old party, we had it at the infamous Pump It Up. Kate wanted to invited all of her "4 and 5 year old friends...and anyone else that is older than 4" I had to adhere to these specifics. Long over are the days that mommy invites who she wants to invite :) I am glad we did it this way because Kate was on cloud nine with all her best friends at her party. We had a ton of kiddos...she wanted to invite her preschool class as well as her other friends from the neighborhood, dance, and church. It was a great party. She felt super special and that is what mattered. Mimi and Nonnie and Papa came for the big day too. Very special.

What a great party. Gosh, I love this girl! She is becoming such a little lady now.
A recent thing is Miss Kate has started reading!!! Really reading....sounding out words, using sight words....it is quite amazing and oh so fun! She is so excited to start her next book after she masters one. Wow. we really do have a 5 year old....I feel old.
