This week has taught me a lot about being intentional with the kids. Being present with them and in the moment is so special. I know not always achievable, but when you are able, it is really rewarding for not just you but them as well. I tried hard this week to be intentional with the plans I had for us each day. The second part of the week was fantastic and better than I thought. All in all it was a really great week. Mommy fun hat is not totally gone now....it is taking a bit of a break, I have big plans this week as we go back to school.....pedicure, some shopping, some mommy tv watching....some me time ;) but you know, that hat was really fun to wear this week. It gave me hope for our long summer :)!
Here is a recap of the 2nd part of the week....
Wednesday -
We went to Celebrations indoor play area with our whole play group! Believe it or not our group started 4 years ago with 3 kids now it has grown to 14 kids!! Oh my! ( the newest addition, baby Elise, is nursing with her momma!)
Thursday -
We packed a picnic and met friends at the park. Such fun!!! And it was a great weather day!
getting set up for our picnic....
posing with a princess doll....obsession has returned.... :)
Kara enjoying the wind :)
Colin saying "choo choo!!".....
Friday:
Kate had a play date planned at our house with a good friend from school after lunch. That morning though, we had an impromptu invite from the neighbors for the girls to come play. That was a nice treat :) Colin and I played trains and had some time together. After the girls came home they played with the new neighbor boys outside while I made lunch. they just LOVE the new neighbor boys ( more on that in another post! haha)
After lunch Kate's friend came over and they had tons of fun....dress up, scooters, barbies, and of course what is a playdate without snacks???:)
Saturday
( yes, I actually planned out a Saturday!)
Daddy had planned to golf early Saturday morning so I surprised the kiddos with a visit to the donut shop....this was serious business because getting donuts is VERY rare. My kiddos need protein in the morning and so do I! Donuts seem to be more of a "dessert" when we have gotten them. We took our mini milk cartons and donuts to the park and had a really fun morning.
Loving these donut pictures of the kids....
just playing.....such fun!
and of course throwing rocks in the creek...
What a week!
