I have not written in a while. Things have been great. Ever since Kate got her medicine, Zantac, she has been significantly less fussy. It is wonderful. I feel I can do things now – as selfish as that sounds! Life is just easier when you have a happy baby. I have noticed some new things about Kate’s personality. She is definitely a momma’s girl! It makes me feel great to know she loves me so much but at the same time it is a hard habit to break. How do you teach your child to be ok with someone else holding them???She is so much better with people holding her now. It is so fun to see her smile at Kameron when he gets home and acts as though she knows it’s her daddy. Actually I know she knows it’s her daddy. It is an awesome sight to watch her “see” her daddy. I have been paying attention to her sleep cues and when she needs a nap. I have been trying to follow the every hour and a half to two hour rule – put them down after being awake after that time frame. At first I thought that wouldn’t work but it has actually proven to be true. Kate needs to nap whether it’s for an hour or 30 minutes after that time frame. It makes the next 2 hours very peaceful.
Kameron and I are starting new bedtime routines to where we work up to no rocking to sleep.
If she wakes up we pat her back to sleep. Sleep stuff is the pits! I know now that with our next child I will start much earlier with laying them down awake to sleep.
