So Kate has a new medicince for her acid reflux, prevacid. Yes, that is exactly the same medicine I take. Like mother, like daughter. I feel so bad I passed it down to her but hopefully this medicine will clear it up before she evern knows what it is. Anyway, the prevacid comes in small tablets that dissolve on your tongue. Sounds easy right? The first wrong thing about this is who would prescribe a medicine for a 4 month old that it has to dissolve on your tongue???? She has only had one liquid in her body since birth - milk! And the dissolving part- can't wait to see her patiently wait as it ever so slightly dissolves on her small tongue :) The other wrong thing about this medicine is that you only give half of this small tablet to her a day. So that leads me to look like a druggie. This morning I was looking at the pill thinking how in the world am I supposed to cut this thing in half? (It is about the size of a pencil earser!) So I got out a plate and put the small tablet on it and began slowing sawing at it with a knife. This was very hard to do! It began crumbling into powder as I sawed. When I finished I got a small baby spoon to scoop it up in. I had to use the knife to scrape it up to the spoon. This is when I felt like a druggie. Flashes of Pulp Fiction ran in my head. I was glad my blinds were closed in my kitchen because I did not want the neighbors wondering what I was doing! Now there is a small bit of powder sitting in a spoon awaiting Miss Kate's waking. We'll see how this works... (and yes, I did take a picture of it...)
